What makes a good photo

I think that this is a exceptional peace of work. I think that it is so good because it does not just show the damage of the 2012 tsunami but it shows a work of art that came by chance. Another reason why it is so good is that this is only one of the good photos from the tsunami. Most of the lines in this picture are straight and filled with detail. This photo represents a rough and distressing photo but in a good way.  The colours in this spectacular photo are not the usual colours but they are the effective white and grey.

 

 





 



 This photo is a good one because there is mixture of colurs. There are some bright colours on the people’s cloths and darker colours in the background.  In the background the lines are wavy/curvy and go up and down. There are two different textures in this photo. One is the rough raged stone, which the people are standing on, and the other one is the misty forest in the background. The pattern in this photo is where people are standing. For example the children are standing on either side of the men. This effective  because the green and pink plus the way they are standing makes this photo a good one. 

 





 
 







 

 This photo is a classic one because when you look into it,  you are looking at all the fish, but then you discover this scuba diver in the middle. There is only one type of colour in this photo and that is a dark shade of blue. This shade of blue is effective because it makes the scuba diver blend in with the fish. The lines in this are pretty much the same as there are only fish and a scuba diver. The lines are all a curve and there are two straight lines on the divers body. In this photo there are smooth textures because everything is wet. The photo is slightly blurry, but I think this is done because the photo is taken under water.  The pattern in this photo is the massive swarm of fish and this what makes the photo a good one.

 
 

 This very different photo to my other ones because it is the most realistic. It looks like the man is going to shoot the boy but in fact he is only teaching the boys what to do in a life or death moment. The patterns in this photo are really good because it has been well thought out.  The pattern in this is that every other boy in the background is kneeling down.  The field in the background is slightly dimer than the field the men are standing on. The colours are pretty basic in this photo as they are only browns and greens. The lines in this photo are  mainly straight  accept for the boys who are kneeling down.

Rule of thirds

This was a old photo which did not have the rule of thirds because the main focus was in the middle. However after i have edited the photo the main focus is now slightly to the left so it now has the rule of thirds.

This is not a very good photo but the person is not in the middle because we used the rule of thirds. The person is slightly to left of the photo and that is what makes the photo look a bit better.

This photo has not got the rule of thirds but i think it is still a good one because of the lines, colour, and a bit of patterns.

my photo's

 I chose this photo because of the bright colour's . In the photo the ceiling and walls are quiet closed in. The yellow in the background  makes the boys black clothes stand out . There is a mixture of day light and inside light . It may not be the best photo but  all of the above  makes it a good clear photo .

This another bad photo because again there is a blur in the top left corner and it really catches your eye. The other blur in this photo is the boy in the bottom right corner who quickly put his head in the photo. There is also two people on the left side of the photo which don't need to be there.

Can you make a photo look interesting ?

This is a good photo because the effects make our skin look better and the whole photo. The background has a good effect and there is not much going on in the background . We are both looking at the camera and are happy .

This is a bad one because i am not looking at the camera . To add to this there is to much going on in the background and the colors are very dull. In the top left corner there is a massive blur which makes this photo a bad one.

I am Joseph Payne and i am from Caldicot school. In media i have produced a CD cover and back . I have also designed a magazine and contents page.
